A focused group using two role-play scenarios and one live challenge from each participant.
Preparation, simulation, debrief and guided practice between sessions.
Leave with: A negotiation preparation canvas, stakeholder map and personal practice plan.
What we need from you: A negotiation situation you want to prepare for. Confidential details can be anonymized.
This is a suggested starting format. Scope, schedule, availability and fees are confirmed in a written proposal before kickoff.

Negotiation skills are rarely improved by watching content alone. People need a repeatable preparation method, realistic practice and reflection on what happened.
Who it is for: Executives, founders, commercial teams and institutional negotiators.
A focused path from question to action.
Prepare
Map interests, constraints, alternatives, stakeholders and decision authority.
Simulate
Practice negotiation cases with changing information and competing priorities.
Debrief
Examine signals, concessions, impasses and missed options.
Continue
Use shared tools and a developing practice community to keep learning active.
Tangible outputs.
Scope and timing are agreed with you; these are the core deliverables we would shape around your context.
- Negotiation preparation template
- Case-based course sessions
- Facilitated simulation and debrief
- Path into the developing Negotiation Lab community
From course to practice
A participant brings a real or simulated case, maps the decision board, rehearses options, then records lessons for the next negotiation. Course format and community access are confirmed when an engagement is agreed.
What a working output looks like.
Illustrative sample · fictional scenario · no client dataA negotiation preparation canvas
| Preparation question | Illustrative answer | Next move |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns the decision? | The sponsor likes the proposal, but budget approval sits elsewhere. | Map sponsor, approver, user and possible blocker. |
| What is our alternative? | Delay the agreement while pursuing a smaller pilot with another team. | Validate the alternative before relying on it. |
| What can we trade? | Scope, timing and payment milestones have different value to each side. | Prepare conditional packages rather than isolated concessions. |
Open the working brief
- Scenario
- Everyone likes the proposal, but nobody has accepted ownership of the decision.
- Practice task
- Ask questions that reveal the approval path and the interests behind it.
- Debrief output
- Record which assumptions were tested and what changed in the stakeholder map.
- Availability
- Institutional formats are scoped on inquiry. Open-cohort dates and community membership terms are announced separately.
This sample shows the structure and level of specificity of a deliverable. The final output is built around your workflows, people and agreed scope.
